While leading the redesign for Epiq's corporate restructuring website, my product development squad was faced with the perception that the website (service line) couldn’t become a revenue-generating product. However, our Google Analytics data told a different story. Therefore, I partnered with my Product Manager and Business Analyst to develop a design strategy to monetize it. First I developed an account signup flow, then I designed a user flow that would move docket downloads behind the log-in to encourage sign-ups. Finally, I designed a personalized dashboard experience for account users so they would have a reason to upgrade to a premium paid account. The implemented design strategy resulted in an expanded user base with a subscription experience for non-clients, repeat traffic through our new docket alerts feature, and most importantly, it demonstrated a path to monetization for the website.
Note: The implementation of the strategy was halted due to a company acquisition that shifted priorities and resources away from the corporate restructuring business.
