ABOUT MEDIA GALLERY
Media Gallery is a workflow component inside a patient's electronic medical record that enables providers to review, annotate, and map clinical images and diagrams.
Historically, medical documentation has been very textual and not so visual. Today there are many forms of media clinicians can use as tools to capture and track a patient’s condition.
The goal was to replace the current clinical image viewer with a solution that can accommodate:
- Various forms of media such as images, video, or audio content.
- Enable providers to easily review collections of content and annotate/combine with stock medical diagrams to manage a patient's condition.
This component is released and used by care providers today. Enhancements are being made to support various media types, optimized filtering, and structured renaming of media types.

RESEARCH
Onsite field research with clinical media users. How is media captured today? How is it utilized within a patient's medical record? What improvements can be made? In addition to shadowing visits I also researched a variety of media review applications.
PROCESS
I explored relationships between content types and mapped several different paths the user could take through the experience based on their desired goals.
